Long story, less long:

After Hurricane Andrew and the promise of “white sand,” I moved from South Florida to Upstate New York with my family—a journey that marked the beginning of a life defined by resilience, innovation, and service. From mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu to the halls of an Ivy League university, my path has been anything but traditional, shaped by challenges, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others.

Like many, school and home were not without obstacles though I was able to transform these struggles into a foundation for impact. I defied expectations early on by pioneering a nationally recognized program that ensures students have access to meals during extended school breaks. Today, this initiative serves as a model across the country and ignited my lifelong dedication to advocacy and systems change.

Today, I am an internationally recognized expert in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and organizational change. At Cornell University, I train and advise child welfare agencies, schools, and international organizations on implementing evidence-based, trauma-responsive systems. My work has spanned the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe, helping agencies strengthen outcomes, align practice with policy, and build sustainable learning cultures.

I have contributed to leading publications, developed training curricula, and guided fidelity reviews that ensure programs not only meet standards but create lasting transformation. My expertise extends across child welfare, K–12 education and hospital settings. My expertise is in program evaluation, curriculum design, predictive analytics, and organizational leadership.

What began as a personal journey of overcoming barriers has evolved into a career dedicated to equipping professionals and institutions with the tools to create safe, supportive environments where every child and adult can thrive.

Through life's highs and lows, one truth has become clear: relationships are everything. Whether forged on the mats or through partnerships with colleagues, I've witnessed the immense power of authentic human connections.
